Service Writer/ Front Staff

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Writer/Front Staff member to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through their vehicle service experience with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise will help ensure smooth communication between clients and our technicians, accurately document vehicle issues, and promote additional services to enhance customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly upon arrival and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns to provide a positive first impression.
• Accurately document vehicle issues, repair requests, and customer information using estimating software and service management systems.
• Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs needed, and estimated costs.
• Recommend add-on additional services such as CarWash, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, or other maintenance needs to maximize customer value/experience.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates utilizing computer-aided estimating tools and explain them clearly to customers.
• Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments for services rendered.
• Coordinate with the service team to prioritize repairs, schedule appointments, and ensure timely vehicle turnaround.
• Maintain thorough records of all customer interactions, repair orders, and service histories for future reference.
• Foster strong client relationships through transparent communication and exceptional service writing that builds trust and loyalty.

Requirements

• (Preferred) Proven experience in automotive service writing or front desk roles within a dealership or auto repair shop.
• (Preferred) Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, diesel engines, air brakes, shocks & struts, alignment, tire service, oil changes, collision repair, and automotive diagnostics.
• (Preferred) Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
• Ability to Recommend Add-on services confidently while maintaining integrity and client trust.
• Dealership experience or auto service management background is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential for test drives if needed.
• Knowledge of auto body repair processes and collision repair procedures is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and cash handling procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
