Service Writer/Part Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Service Writer/Part Associate to join our automotive service team. This role combines excellent customer service with technical knowledge to ensure smooth communication between customers and the service department. You will be responsible for writing service estimates, managing parts inventory, and supporting the repair process to deliver exceptional automotive care.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and accurately document their vehicle concerns and service needs
• Write detailed service estimates using estimating software and communicate repair recommendations clearly
• Assist technicians by sourcing parts efficiently and verifying availability for repairs
• Upsell additional services or repairs that enhance vehicle safety and performance while maintaining integrity
• Manage parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing parts for various repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, and tire services
• Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments securely
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding vehicle status, repair timelines, and cost estimates

Experience

• Previous experience as a Service Writer or Parts Associate in an automotive dealership or repair shop preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, shocks & struts, brakes, suspension components, and collision repair processes
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools is highly desirable
• Proven ability in upselling services while prioritizing customer satisfaction
• Excellent client communication skills with a focus on building trust and rapport
• Experience with auto estimating software and dealership operations is a plus
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to support vehicle test drives if needed

Pay: $72,201.38 - $86,952.20 per year
