Job Title ServiceNow Database Administrator

Overview We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Database Administrator to join a team supporting a self-hosted ServiceNow environment on AWS. In this role, you will be responsible for administering, optimizing, and securing the databases that underpin critical enterprise services. You will work closely with cloud, security, and ServiceNow teams to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity, supporting ongoing upgrades, troubleshooting, and automation efforts. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a vital government project with a focus on operational excellence and security.

Education Requirements A Bachelors degree is preferred, but not required.

Clearance Requirements This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI FS Poly

Responsibilities

• Administer, optimize, and secure databases supporting a self-hosted ServiceNow environment on AWS
• Handle backups, recovery, patching, and tuning of databases
• Support ServiceNow upgrades and troubleshoot issues
• Manage AWS database resources and enforce security and compliance standards
• Automate routine database tasks and maintain documentation
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and ServiceNow teams to ensure system performance and reliability
• Provide on-call support for critical issues and platform maintenance
• Support the transition to containerization, including Kubernetes and DevOps practices

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in database administration or related roles
• Experience supporting ServiceNow environments, preferably in a cloud or hybrid setting
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, with some experience in Postgres
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI FS Poly clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
• Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS
• Knowledge of database backup, recovery, patching, and tuning
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards in government or enterprise settings

Desired Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and DevOps tools
• Knowledge of Postgres database management
• Familiarity with cloud engineering and platform support roles
• Experience supporting government or classified projects
• Ability to learn ServiceNow platform administration and certifications in the future

Pay Range $170,000.00–$210,000.00 (annual)
