ServiceNow Developer / Architect

Senior ServiceNow Developer / Architect Location: Warren, NJ Work Arrangement: Hybrid — 3 days onsite per week Client: Randstad/ Everest Insurance Pay rate: $50/hr on W2 Local Requirement: Candidates must already live locally; relocation candidates will not be accepted Duration: Initial 6-month contract with renewal potential Employment Type: Contract-to-hire, with an opportunity for permanent conversion in late 2027 Work Authorization: Open to all work authorizations Experience: 7+ years in software development, including 5+ years in ServiceNow development Role Overview Everest Insurance is seeking a hands-on Senior ServiceNow Developer / Architect with strong expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM).

This individual will help lead the implementation, customization, and enhancement of the enterprise ServiceNow platform, connecting operational workflows with automated IT operations. Key areas include CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.

Key Responsibilities Platform Development and Architecture

• Design, build, and deploy ServiceNow solutions using Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions, Flow Designer, and Workflow Editor.
• Configure and maintain Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Operational Intelligence.
• Maintain CMDB accuracy, resolve duplicate records, and align configuration data with CSDM 4.0.
• Design and maintain bidirectional integrations using Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Servers.
• Integrate ServiceNow with tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Datadog, Jira, Azure DevOps, and PagerDuty.

Automation and Platform Governance

• Build automated remediation workflows using Flow Designer and Integration Hub spokes to reduce mean time to resolution.
• Manage update sets, application scope, and instance upgrades across DEV, TEST, and PROD.
• Follow established change management practices.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to translate enterprise requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• At least 5 years dedicated to ServiceNow development.
• Strong expertise across both ITSM and ITOM.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript ES6+, GlideScript, HTML/CSS, AngularJS, and XML/JSON.
• Hands-on expertise in Discovery patterns, Service Mapping rules, Event Management alert binding, and CMDB health metrics.
• Strong knowledge of relational database structures and SQL.
• Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating legacy systems to ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM.
• Cloud discovery experience across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP.
• Experience mapping containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
