Principal Consultant ServiceNow Tech Lead

Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Principal Consultant – ServiceNow Tech Lead to lead enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations and provide technical leadership across development teams. This is a client-facing role that involves solution architecture, hands-on development, integrations, platform governance, and mentoring developers while delivering high-quality ServiceNow solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ServiceNow developers, providing technical guidance and task ownership.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules.
• Prepare High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents and define technical implementation roadmaps.
• Develop and customize workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, ACLs, Service Portal components, and APIs.
• Build integrations with third-party applications using REST, SOAP, Integration Hub, and Flow Designer.
• Participate in Agile sprint planning, development, code reviews, testing, and release management.
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow development standards, technical governance, and best practices.
• Manage deployments, update sets, cloning, upgrades, and migration across ServiceNow instances.
• Monitor platform health, performance, scalability, security, and compliance through health scans and governance reviews.
• Resolve technical escalations, production issues, and provide support during releases and upgrades.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, technical workshops, and mentor team members on new platform capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in ServiceNow development and technical leadership.
• Proven experience leading client-facing ServiceNow implementation projects.
• Hands-on expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, debugging, update sets, and deployment processes.
• Experience with Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Scripts, UI Actions, Script Includes, ACLs, Service Portal, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
• Strong experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party applications using REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, and Service Mapping.
• Experience in greenfield implementation of ServiceNow modules.
• Experience in instance cloning, upgrades, migrations, and release management.
• Ability to review architecture, code quality, and ensure platform health and maintainability.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Mandatory.

• One or more ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certifications such as:

• ITSM

• ITOM

• CSM

• HRSD

• GRC

• Additional ServiceNow certifications are a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, TFS, Rally, or similar Agile tools.
• Experience with ServiceNow Proof of Concepts (POCs), demos, and solution architecture.
• Knowledge of newly released ServiceNow platform features and upgrades.

• Experience delivering enterprise ServiceNow implementations and managing development teams.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, integrations, platform governance, and best practices.
• Ability to work directly with client stakeholders and enterprise architecture teams.
