Job Title: ServiceNow Developer

Location: Chennai, India

Business Line / Function:

ITG is a group function within ISPL (established 2019) with sites in Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru. The team partners with BNP Paribas business lines to deliver IT services, focusing on IT risk management, cybersecurity, and digital‑fraud prevention for the Group’s ~30 entities.

Position Overview

The ServiceNow Developer will design, configure, and maintain Risk‑IT cyber‑solutions on the ServiceNow platform (IRM, SecOps, CMDB, etc.). The role drives technical feasibility, translates business needs into robust ServiceNow implementations, and supports the Cybersecurity & Digital Fraud Department’s strategy to strengthen IT risk management and operational resilience across the bank.

Job Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Implementation
• Configure ServiceNow modules (IRM, SecOps, CMDB, Entity Management, Controls, Audit Management).
• Conduct feasibility and gap analyses; produce design proposals, macro‑estimations, and scripts.
• Translate user requirements from Product Owners into technical specifications, ensuring adherence to best‑practice standards.
• Development & Testing
• Develop and parameterize functional needs within ServiceNow IRM and SecOps.
• Write design documents, architecture diagrams, flow charts, and maintenance guides.
• Perform unit and integration testing; provide post‑production support and incident resolution.
• Collaboration & Governance
• Work with technical, functional, and security architects to align deliverables with architecture bodies (e.g., CVIT).
• Estimate effort and timelines; identify risks and dependencies.
• Propose optimization, fine‑tuning, and simplification of the application.

Contributing Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach team members on ServiceNow and security topics.
• Participate in recruitment activities for the ServiceNow team.
• Monitor application performance and optimize response times.
• Contribute to architecture instruction bodies and internal knowledge sharing.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

Category Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience

4–7 years of hands‑on ServiceNow development, preferably on IT Risk Management (IRM/GRC) solutions.

Certifications

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules: ITSM, CMDB, Workflows, Access Control, Reporting, Performance Analytics, Flow Designer.

• Proficiency in XML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, TCP/IP.

• Experience with IT risk‑management platforms (ServiceNow, Enablon, Archer, or similar GRC systems).

Security Knowledge

Understanding of information‑security concepts, database/application security, network architecture, secure protocols, mobile & cloud security.

Communication

Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Analytical Skills

Strong analytical, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities with a global perspective.

Transversal Skills

Ability to understand, explain, and support change; adapt processes; analytical mindset.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

• Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) in a related discipline.
• Additional ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Advanced System Administrator, Application Developer).
• Hands‑on experience with other GRC platforms (Enablon, Archer) and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
• Experience in large‑scale banking or financial‑services environments.
• Familiarity with IT continuity and resilience methodologies.
