ServiceNow Developer

Job Purpose The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, enhancement, and support of ServiceNow applications and modules. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable and efficient ServiceNow solutions that support business processes and digital transformation initiatives

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and workflows.
• Build and maintain ServiceNow modules, integrations, forms, catalogs, reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.
• Develop and support ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, or other platform capabilities as required.
• Create and maintain custom scripts, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Script Includes, and Flow Designer automations.
• Integrate ServiceNow with internal and external systems using REST, SOAP, APIs, and other integration technologies.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve platform issues and defects.
• Participate in solution design sessions and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure development activities comply with ServiceNow best practices, governance standards, and security requirements.
• Support platform upgrades, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and support teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

Essential Preferred Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), OR,
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (if CSA held)

Advantageous

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (if CAD held)
• ITIL Foundation Certification

Minimum Experience Level

• Minimum 4 years' experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
• Proven experience developing and supporting solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and related modules.
• Experience with JavaScript, web technologies, and API integrations.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments is advantageous.
