Job Title: ServiceNow Consultant – [ITAM – HAM/SAM Modules]

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules. The ideal candidate will design, configure, and optimize ITAM processes on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring accurate asset lifecycle tracking, license compliance, and cost optimization for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end implementation, configuration, and support of ServiceNow HAM and SAM Pro modules
• Design and configure hardware asset lifecycle workflows (procurement to retirement/disposal)
• Configure software license models, entitlements, normalization, and reconciliation processes
• Perform software license compliance audits and optimize license allocation to reduce costs
• Integrate HAM/SAM with CMDB, Discovery, Service Catalog, and Procurement modules
• Define and implement asset data governance, normalization rules, and reconciliation logic
• Conduct gap analysis, prepare solution design documents, and translate business requirements into technical configurations
• Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, Procurement, Finance) to align ITAM processes with business needs
• Support data migration, asset reconciliation, and CI/asset mapping activities
• Troubleshoot issues, provide root cause analysis, and ensure platform stability
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to best practices/documentation
• Stay current with ServiceNow releases and recommend upgrades/enhancements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6–8 years of overall IT experience, with at least 4–5 years dedicated to ServiceNow HAM/SAM
• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM Pro modules
• Solid understanding of software license models (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, etc.) and entitlement management
• Experience with CMDB, Discovery, and Normalization/Reconciliation processes
• Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies)
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party tools (SCCM, Flexera, procurement/finance systems) via REST/SOAP APIs
• Knowledge of ITAM/ITSM best practices and ITIL framework
• Experience with asset lifecycle management, including contracts, warranties, and depreciation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and client-facing communication skills
• Experience leading or contributing to full lifecycle ServiceNow implementations

Good to Have

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – HAM/SAM
• ServiceNow System Administrator Certification (CSA)
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or ITOM modules
• Exposure to cloud asset management (AWS/Azure license tracking)
• Prior consulting/client-facing project experience
