ServiceNow ITAM Administrator Responsibilities
Platform Administration
Administer and support ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) modules, including Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM) and Asset Management.
Manage users, roles, groups, permissions, and access controls.
Administer workflows, business rules, notifications, and integrations.
Support platform upgrades, testing, and release management.
Manage software normalization and reconciliation processes.
Provide Level 2/Level 3 support for ServiceNow ITAM application.
Identify CMDB data quality gaps and work with respective team to get them fixed
Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests, and defects.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Manage platform health, performance, and stability.
Coordinate patches, fixes, and upgrades.
Maintain system documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping activities.
Configure and deploy ITAM enhancements.
Support testing, UAT, and production releases.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
Service Management
Manage incidents, problems, changes, and releases.
Onboard entitlements in SAM Pro
Participate in CAB and governance forums.
Ensure compliance with ITIL processes.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary contact for ITAM platform support.
Work closely with Asset Managers, SAM Analysts, Procurement, Security, and Technology teams.
Provide user training and guidance on ITAM processes and capabilities.
Jira tool maintenance for ITAM activities.
Need to have service now technical knowledge specifically SAM Pro and HAM pro module knowledge. (ServiceNow CSA / CIS-ITAM certification)
