Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior ServiceNow Technical Architect with strong hands-on ServiceNow expertise combined with a solid understanding of end-to-end enterprise business processes , particularly Hire-to-Retire (H2R) and Source-to-Pay (S2P) .

The successful candidate will act as a Technical / Coding Authority , owning solution architecture, technical governance, design standards, code quality and integration architecture across the ServiceNow platform.

This role requires someone who can bridge the gap between business process and technology — understanding what the business is trying to achieve, translating those requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions, and providing strong technical direction to development and implementation teams.

Experience with ServiceNow Now Assist, Generative AI and AI capabilities is highly desirable , but is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

ServiceNow Technical Architecture

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture for complex ServiceNow solutions.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions.
• Define solution architecture, technical design patterns, integration approaches and development standards.
• Ensure ServiceNow solutions follow platform best practices and remain scalable, upgradeable and maintainable.
• Lead architecture discussions, technical design reviews and solution governance.
• Provide technical direction to ServiceNow developers, technical leads and implementation partners.

H2R – Hire-to-Retire

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Hire-to-Retire business process and employee lifecycle .
• Understand processes across onboarding, employee services, lifecycle management, access provisioning, transfers, offboarding and retirement.
• Translate H2R business requirements into ServiceNow workflows, automation, integrations and applications.
• Understand the interaction between ServiceNow HR processes and enterprise systems such as HRIS, identity/access management and ERP platforms.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate H2R processes.

S2P – Source-to-Pay

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Source-to-Pay / procurement lifecycle .
• Understand processes covering sourcing, supplier management, requisition, purchasing, approvals, purchase orders, invoicing and payment.
• Translate S2P requirements into ServiceNow workflows, integrations and automation.
• Understand integrations between ServiceNow, procurement platforms, ERP, finance and supplier systems.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation across the S2P lifecycle.

Coding / Technical Authority

• Act as the Coding and Technical Authority for ServiceNow development.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, architecture principles and development guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews.
• Ensure development follows ServiceNow best practices and minimizes unnecessary customization.
• Review technical solutions for performance, security, scalability and upgradeability.
• Identify technical debt and recommend appropriate remediation strategies.
• Provide technical approval and governance for significant ServiceNow changes and implementations.
• Mentor developers and technical leads on architecture and engineering best practices.

ServiceNow Development & Platform

Provide strong technical guidance across:

The architect should remain technically hands-on enough to challenge designs, review code and guide complex development.

Integration Architecture

• Design and govern integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications.
• Define API, middleware and integration patterns using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub and other enterprise integration technologies.
• Understand data flows across HR, procurement, finance, ERP and identity platforms.
• Ensure integrations are secure, resilient, scalable and maintainable.
• Work closely with enterprise and integration architects on cross-platform architecture.

Now Assist / Generative AI – Good to Have

Experience with ServiceNow Now Assist and Generative AI is an advantage , particularly:

Candidates do not need to have Now Assist experience if they demonstrate strong ServiceNow architecture, technical authority and H2R/S2P business-process expertise.

Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities

• Partner with business process owners, product owners, enterprise architects and senior technology stakeholders.
• Understand business objectives and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Challenge requirements and recommend simpler or more scalable approaches where appropriate.
• Lead technical workshops and architecture discussions.
• Manage technical dependencies across multiple teams and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership across large-scale ServiceNow transformation programs.
• Mentor ServiceNow architects, developers and technical leads.

Mandatory Skills

• 10+ years of strong ServiceNow experience.
• Proven experience as a ServiceNow Technical Architect / Solution Architect / Platform Architect .
• Strong hands-on ServiceNow development and architecture experience.
• Strong understanding of Hire-to-Retire (H2R) and/or Source-to-Pay (S2P) business processes.
• Strong technical governance and architecture experience.
• Experience acting as a technical authority, design authority or coding authority.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow development, integrations and platform architecture.
• Strong JavaScript and Glide API knowledge.
• Experience with Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
• Strong REST/SOAP API and enterprise integration experience.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Good to Have

• ServiceNow Now Assist / Generative AI experience.
• AI Agent Studio / AI Search / Virtual Agent exposure.
• ServiceNow HRSD experience.
• Experience with procurement or S2P processes.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with SAP, Oracle, Workday or other enterprise platforms.
