Set-Up Mechanic

Job Summary

The Conversion Set-Up Operator III is responsible for all responsibilities of the Conversion Machine Operators as well as keeping rolls set-up for continuous run of Conversion Machines with minimal down time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Keep Conversion Operators supplied with cartons, skids and other supplies for orders
• Performs machine set up and changeovers
• Takes direction from Conversion Supervisor for processing jobs
• Performs material inspections
• Ensures rolls are spliced when previous roll finishes
• Performs machine troubleshooting
• Performs equipment maintenance and minor repairs
• Completes quality control documentation
• Performs material inspection per SQF requirements
• Ensures work areas are kept clean and in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices
• Ensures work activities are performed according to SQF procedures and requirements
• Reports downtime when assigned to a line
• Reports any equipment malfunctions or other abnormal condition to Production Management
• Maintains a safe work area and adhere to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Works well in a team environment
• Works scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedule
• Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of Conversion Machine operator experience
• Advanced knowledge of all machines and be able to perform adjustments needed for machines to run efficiently

Work is performed within a process manufacturing environment. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling.  The noise level is moderate to high and PPE is required.
