Set-Up Technician

Job Summary

Fennell Spring Company is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Set-Up Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and adjusting wire coiling machines to produce quality parts that meet customer specifications and production requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Set up wire coiling machines according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
• Make machine adjustments to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Perform first-piece inspections and verify product conformance using precision measuring instruments.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production personnel to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Maintain accurate production and setup records as required.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Manufacturing, machine setup, maintenance, automotive repair, or related technical experience preferred.
• Training will be provided for qualified candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality verification.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes preferred.
• Familiarity with quality standards and inspection procedures in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
