Setter Operator

Job Overview

Set up, run & operate automatic spiral winding machines to achieve: Achieve recognised quality standards - correct resistance, consistency of wind ie pitch and tightness. Efficiency targets and output - ensure machines when running are achieving at least 80%.c. Control of scrap - ensure that scrap is not running at more than 0.85%

Control finished goods within the kanban systeme. Monitor stock levels of raw material used in spiral winding process and inform materials control when minimum stock reached.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in Spiral Winding area.

Conduct basic breakdown and repairs on a timley basis minimising machine downtime. Conduct changeovers and reel changes on a timely basis minimising machine downtime Identify and eliminate common faults with winders and identify solutions and improvements. Handover any machine/production /stock concerns to Operator/Setter on next shift. Work under own initiative, react to machine requirements to ensure maximum efficiencies.

3. Attitude to work - supports fellow workmates with regard to workload and input.

4. Good knowledge of Pneumatic equipment

Pay: £13.21-£14.02 per hour
