Job Description – Sewer / Seamstress

Job Summary

The Sewer/Seamstress is responsible for operating sewing machines to produce high-quality garments and textile products according to company specifications. The position requires accuracy, good sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate single-needle and overlock sewing machines efficiently and safely.
• Sew, stitch, assemble, and finish garments or textile products according to specifications.
• Follow patterns, measurements, work instructions, and production standards.
• Inspect finished products for proper stitching, alignment, and overall quality.
• Identify and correct basic sewing defects.
• Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of sewing machines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Meet daily production and quality targets.
• Report machine problems, material shortages, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and workplace standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• With experience operating single-needle and overlock sewing machines.
• Knowledgeable in basic sewing techniques and garment construction.
• Previous experience in garment production or sewing is preferred.
• Able to follow patterns, measurements, and sewing instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
