Sewing Machine Operator IV - WS

Reports to: Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Summary Statement: The person in this position operates various machines used in industrial sewing following established work and safety procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Check all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine.
• Thread machine and change bobbin as needed.
• Retrieve/distribute materials as needed.
• Prior to sewing, inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stitches, on materials provided to you.
• Operate various automatic machines without the use of guides, completing the most difficult operations within the product line in which you are working.

• Attend training and meetings as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.

• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

• Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
• Must have the dexterity to operate various industrial sewing machines.
• Must consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level IV operator.
• Must consistently exceed production and quality standards of a Level III operator.

Education And Work Experience

• Prior experience performing difficult sewing functions using an industrial sewing machine.
• Consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level II operator.
