Sewing Operator – Tactical Gear Manufacturing
Apex Development | Tempe, AZ | Full-Time | $22–$24/hr

4-day work week. 3-day weekends.

Apex Development is a growing manufacturer of tactical gear based in Tempe. Everything we sell is cut, sewn, assembled, and inspected in-house. We're looking for a skilled Sewing Operator to join our production team and help build gear that people rely on in the field.

This is a hands-on role on a close-knit team where your craftsmanship is seen and valued. If you take pride in clean stitching and consistent quality, we want to hear from you.

Schedule

• Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off
• Overtime may be required based on production needs

Pay & Benefits

• $22–$24/hour starting, based on experience
• Overtime opportunities
• 10 paid holidays per year
• 10 paid vacation days after a 90-day probationary period

What You'll Do

• Operate industrial sewing machines, primarily a Juki 9010 single-needle lockstitch, to assemble tactical gear from heavy-duty materials such as nylon, Cordura, and webbing
• Follow patterns, sewing sequences, and quality standards to produce consistent, durable products
• Inspect your own work and correct defects before parts move to the next stage
• Hit daily production targets while keeping quality high
• Keep your machine and work area clean, organized, and in good working order
• Communicate with the team about material shortages, machine issues, or quality concerns

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating industrial sewing machines (heavy materials a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Ability to work at a steady, consistent pace and meet production goals
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
• Able to read basic measurements and follow written or verbal instructions

Nice to Have

• Experience on a Juki 9010 or similar single-needle industrial machine
• Experience with tactical, outdoor, military, or other technical/heavy-duty sewn products
• Experience with bartack, binding, or double-needle machines
• Basic machine maintenance or troubleshooting skills
