Shade Development Technician

About the role

To develop and optimise shades and recipes in line with approved requirements, ensuring timely delivery of quality-compliant and reproducible recipes, while maintaining accurate documentation and system records and coordinating effectively with the Central Shade Lab and Thailand QA/Regulatory to support regulatory compliance and successful commercial production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new and modified shades/recipes based on approved requirements and ensure the desired shade is achieved within the stipulated timeline
• Ensure developed shades meet the required customer and quality specifications through appropriate shade matching, evaluation and testing
• Prepare and share developed recipes and relevant technical information with the Dahanu Shade Lab for preparation of reports, master recipe processing and system upload
• Ensure colourants and recipes used for shade development comply with applicable Thailand regulatory requirements in coordination with Thailand QA/Regulatory and the approved master regulatory data
• Maintain accurate and complete shade development records and recipe information in the approved systems, including Colour Manager and Shade Manager
• Support reproducibility of approved recipes during commercial production and provide technical support for shade-related deviations or issues
• Match developed shades against customer/reference samples
• Conduct development trials and finalise recipes within agreed timelines
• Utilise Colour Manager and Shade Manager software for shade development and recipe management
• Investigate shade deviations and support corrective actions

About you

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related technical discipline; a relevant technical qualification with exposure to colour/shade development or laboratory operations is a plus

• Relevant experience in shade development, colour matching, laboratory operations, or a related manufacturing environment preferred; experience with colour/shade management systems or exposure to pharmaceutical/manufacturing quality and regulatory requirements will be given special consideration

• Able to communicate in English for coordination with the Central Shade Lab and overseas stakeholders

• Good communication and coordination skills, able to work across QA/Regulatory, Production, and Central Lab teams

• Proficient in MS Office
