Shadow teacher

Overview:

• We are seeking a compassionate, highly qualified Shadow Teacher with an advanced background in psychology. You will provide dedicated, one-on-one emotional, behavioral, and academic support to a special needs child. Your primary goal is to help the student integrate smoothly into their learning environment, build independence, and thrive socially and academically

• Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one assistance to the child throughout the school day.

• Implement tailored behavioral intervention plans based on psychological principles.

• De-escalate challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement strategies.

• Adapt classroom material to match the child's learning style and pace.

• Foster social interactions by helping the child communicate and bond with peers.

• Encourage independent problem-solving rather than doing the work for them.

• Partner closely with the main classroom teacher to ensure minimal disruption.

• Maintain detailed logs of the child's daily progress, triggers, and milestones.

• Communicate regularly with parents and external therapists to align strategies.

• Education & Experience:

• M.Sc. in Psychology (Applied, Clinical, or Child Psychology preferred).

• Proven experience working with special needs children (e.g., ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities).

• Strong understanding of child development and behavioral therapy techniques.
