Helping Hands Behavioral LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable Shared Living Providers in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will welcome and support an individual with developmental disabilities in your own home, helping them enjoy a safe, stable home environment and participate in everyday community life.

Position details

• Full-time
• Starting salary: $32,000–$35,000 per year
• Location: Akron, Ohio — care is provided in the provider’s own home
• Three openings; hiring as soon as possible

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered support based on the individual’s needs and support plan.
• Assist with daily routines, personal care as needed, meals, and household activities.
• Encourage independence, personal choices, social connections, and participation in community activities.
• Help coordinate appointments and day-to-day activities with the support team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to the appropriate team members.
• Protect the individual’s privacy, dignity, and rights, and follow agency safety procedures and training.

Qualifications

• A safe, stable, welcoming home in the Akron area and willingness to provide care in your own home.
• Patience, dependability, sound judgment, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to build a supportive relationship and follow individualized support plans.
• Caregiving, direct support, or experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Willingness to complete required agency screening and training.
