Shared Services Manager

At Wells & Co, our Finance Shared Services team is the engine behind the operation. Supporting our pubs, brewery and support functions, they ensure suppliers are paid, customers are supported, transactions are processed accurately and the business has the financial information it needs to make great decisions.

We're looking for an experienced Finance Shared Services Manager to lead our Transactional team, driving service excellence, continuous improvement and strong financial controls across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing and developing a team of 4 within the Shared Services Finance function
• Leading Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control activities
• Setting and monitoring team KPIs, priorities and service level agreements
• Ensuring invoices, credits, payments and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
• Driving continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Managing supplier, customer and stakeholder relationships across the business
• Supporting cash flow management through effective payment processing and credit control
• Overseeing supplier and customer account set-up processes, ensuring appropriate controls and due diligence are followed
• Managing and improving the purchase order process
• Producing reports and insights to highlight performance, trends and opportunities for improvement
• Supporting audit requirements, compliance reporting and financial controls
• Building an engaged, knowledgeable and customer-focused team through coaching, training and development

What we're looking for:

• Experience managing a transactional finance, finance operations or shared services team
• Strong knowledge of Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Credit Control processes
• Experience leading and motivating teams to deliver excellent results
• A customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective relationships across a business
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
• Advanced Excel and finance systems experience
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• A continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying and implementing process enhancements
