Shared Services Officer

Complete Staff Solutions is recruiting a Shared Services Support Officer for a Newcastle-based government organisation. This is a busy customer service role supporting both employees and members of the public by phone and live chat.

You’ll join a team that handles a wide range of enquiries and administrative requests. The role is available for an immediate start, subject to pre-employment checks.

What you’ll do

• Respond to phone and live chat enquiries and aim to resolve them at first contact.
• Process routine transactions accurately using established procedures.
• Record customer interactions and work across several systems at once.
• Identify enquiries that need to be escalated and work with your team to meet service targets.

What you’ll bring

• Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to handle a high volume of varied enquiries.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Accurate typing and attention to detail. The role description specifies a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute with more than 85% accuracy.
• Previous contact centre or shared services experience is preferred.

The details

This is a 35-hour-per-week role, working seven hours per day. You’ll work from the Newcastle office for approximately 50% of your time, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays mandatory in the office. Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams, and two references are required.
