SharePoint & Power Platform Developer

We are looking for a Junior to Mid-Level SharePoint & Power Platform Developer to support an active programme of Microsoft 365 projects and work closely alongside our SharePoint Administration function.

The role will suit someone who already has a solid grounding in SharePoint Online and the Power Platform and is looking to build further experience delivering practical, automated business solutions.

You will be given individual tasks and requirements, with the expectation that you can work through the problem, build the solution, test it, and present your work back to the project lead. You do not need to be a senior architect, but you should be technically capable, structured, and confident enough to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint & Administration Support

• Build and configure SharePoint Lists, Document Libraries, site structures, views, and columns
• Manage and configure SharePoint site permissions, groups, and sharing settings in line with governance guidance
• Use JSON to customize list column and form formatting
• Modify, maintain, and troubleshoot existing SharePoint configurations and list structures
• Work alongside the SharePoint Administrator to resolve permissions, access, and configuration issues

Power Automate

• Build and maintain automated flows using Microsoft Power Automate
• Automate core business processes, approvals, and data synchronization routines
• Work with triggers, actions, conditions, variables, and custom error handling
• Troubleshoot failed or stalled flows and optimize existing automation
• Document flow logic, triggers, and data mapping

Power Apps

• Develop simple to mid-complexity Canvas Apps and customize SharePoint list forms
• Connect applications to SharePoint Lists, Libraries, and other Microsoft 365 services
• Maintain, update, and troubleshoot existing applications
• Expand your knowledge of the broader Power Platform (Model-driven Apps, Dataverse, Power Pages)

Project Work

You will work on live client or internal projects and will generally be given a requirement or an individual piece of work to complete.

You will be expected to:

• Understand the core business requirement
• Identify an appropriate technical solution across SharePoint and Power Platform
• Complete the build and configuration independently
• Thoroughly test your work prior to review
• Raise clear questions where requirements are ambiguous
• Demonstrate completed work back to the project lead
• Incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments

Requirements

You should have practical experience with most of the following:

• SharePoint Online configuration & administration basics
• SharePoint Lists, Libraries, & JSON formatting
• Power Automate flow building & troubleshooting
• Basic to mid-level Canvas Power Apps development
• Microsoft 365 permissions & security basics
• Problem-solving and debugging broken workflows or apps

We are open to candidates at the junior-to-mid end of the market, provided you have a good technical foundation and can demonstrate that you have actually built and deployed these solutions in practical scenarios.

Formal qualifications are useful, but practical experience and the ability to explain your work will be much more important.

Technical Interview Requirement

Candidates will be asked to discuss a Power Automate Flow or Power App they have previously built.

A live demonstration is not strictly required, but you should be able to explain:

• What the solution was designed to achieve
• How SharePoint was structured to support the data
• The main triggers, actions, conditions, and formulas used
• How permissions and error handling were managed
• Why you chose that specific design approach

We are interested in how you think through a problem, handle data structures, and build a clean solution, rather than simply seeing Power Platform listed on a resume.

Working Style

The role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of tasks and getting things done.

You will receive direction and technical context from the project lead and SharePoint Administrator, but you will not be given a step-by-step set of instructions for every task. You should be comfortable researching unfamiliar problems, testing different technical approaches, and presenting a sensible, working solution.
