Sheet Metal Programmer (Dr. ABE, Solid works, AutoCAD)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Programmer with expertise in Dr. ABE, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise CNC programs for sheet metal components, ensuring seamless integration with our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC Punch press/Laser/C1 programs for sheet metal fabrication using Dr. ABE, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CAM software to ensure accurate machining processes.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise manufacturing.
• Set up CNC Punch Press/ Laser/C1 and other machining tools such as CNC tooling and electrical discharge machining equipment for production runs.
• Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy and quality control standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications, tooling setups, and process improvements utilizing CAD software like CATIA or SolidWorks.
• Maintain detailed documentation of programs, tooling setups, measurement data, and process parameters to support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices.
• Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing geometry deviations or measurement discrepancies to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

Requirements

• Proven experience in CNC Punch Press/Amada Laser/ C1 programming for sheet metal fabrication using Dr. ABE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAM software.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Familiarity with CNC Press Punch/ Laser/ C1 operations including electrical discharge machining (EDM), and related tooling setups.
• Proficiency in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement instruments.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles to ensure parts meet strict dimensional tolerances.
• Experience working within lean manufacturing environments to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
• Ability to program in engineering CAD design software such as CATIA or SolidWorks; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
• Mechanical aptitude combined with strong math skills to support complex machining calculations and geometry analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality control and process improvement initiatives.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
