Sheetrock Installer

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sheetrock Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing drywall (also known as sheetrock) to create smooth, durable surfaces for interior walls and ceilings. Your expertise will contribute to high-quality construction projects, ensuring safety and precision at every step. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new builds to renovation sites, utilizing your skills in drywall installation and related trades.

Duties

• Measure and interpret construction plans and schematics to accurately install drywall panels on walls and ceilings.
• Prepare surfaces by framing with metal studs or wood, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment.
• Cut drywall sheets precisely using hand tools and power tools to fit designated spaces.
• Install drywall using appropriate fasteners, ensuring panels are securely fixed and level.
• Finish drywall by applying mudding (joint compound), taping seams, sanding surfaces smoothly, and texturing as required for aesthetic appeal.
• Perform drywall repairs or restoration work, including patching holes or damaged areas caused by water damage or other issues.
• Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and safety protocols during all phases of installation and finishing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in drywall installation, drywall mudding, taping, texturing, and repair within a construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and interpreting technical drawings.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as knives, screw guns, t-squares, along with power tools like drills and saws.
• Familiarity with metal stud framing, plastering, carpentry, flooring installation, tile laying, and other related trades is a plus.
• Understanding of construction safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent workplace safety protocols.
• Ability to read blueprints accurately and follow detailed instructions for complex projects.
• Construction site experience with the ability to work efficiently in various environments while maintaining high safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues related to drywall installation or repair tasks.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
