Shift Airfreight Export Operator - Temporary

About the role

This role involves coordinating end-to-end export shipments from booking to departure, ensuring timelines and service requirements are met. You will arrange bookings with airlines, monitor space availability, manage flight schedules, prepare and verify export documentation, handle customs clearance, and track shipments while proactively updating customers on status.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end export shipments from booking to departure, ensuring timelines and service requirements are met
• Arrange bookings with airlines, monitor space availability, and manage flight schedules or rollovers
• Prepare and verify export documentation (e.g. AWB, invoices, packing list) ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Handle export customs clearance and ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements
• Send pre-alerts and shipping details to destination offices, consignees, and overseas agents
• Track shipments and proactively update customers on status, delays, or exceptions
• Liaise with shippers, carriers, trucking vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth cargo movement
• Coordinate cargo pick-up, consolidation, and delivery to airport within cut-off timelines
• Ensure proper handling of special cargo (e.g. DG, temperature-controlled, high value) in compliance with requirements
• Manage billing, cost entries, and invoicing accurately within required timelines

About you

• In-depth knowledge of Airfreight Export operations
• Good geographical and airline routing knowledge
• Knowledge of export documentation and customs procedures
• Knowledge of claims handling procedures
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office; experience in Cargowise One preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
