SHIFT ENGINEER

About the role

Polystar Manpower Services is seeking a dedicated Shift Engineer to join our retail and consumer products operations team. This is a full-time position based in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. As a Shift Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail facilities and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports our business operations. This position is essential to our commitment to delivering excellent service to our customers whilst maintaining safe and efficient working environments across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain all mechanical and electrical systems within retail facilities to ensure continuous operational efficiency
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery and infrastructure to identify potential issues before they impact operations
• Respond promptly to technical breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and system performance
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities during assigned shifts
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
• Liaise with management and report on facility conditions and required repairs or upgrades
• Train and support other team members on proper equipment operation and safety procedures

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Shift Engineer or in a similar technical maintenance role within retail, hospitality or commercial environments
• Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in commercial facilities
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and implement practical solutions efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required
• Valid certifications or qualifications in engineering, mechanical or electrical trades
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety compliance and best practices
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
