Shift Engineer - HVAC

Purpose of the Role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems within the airport terminal. This role requires leadership in team management, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, while providing technical expertise to address system issues and optimize performance.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PRC license required; relevant certifications in HVAC, Energy Management, or Building Systems preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building systems maintenance or a similar technical role, preferably in a large-scale infrastructure or airport environment.
• Proven experience in managing mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and optimizing performance.
• Experience in managing teams and coordinating with contractors and vendors for system maintenance and improvements.
• Hands-on experience with emergency response and crisis management in a facilities maintenance context.
• Strong understanding of energy management, sustainability practices, and cost-control measures.

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and energy optimization.
• Project & Resource Management: Ability to plan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance tasks while managing engineering teams and vendors.
• Compliance & Safety: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, local codes, and industry standards to ensure systems meet operational and safety requirements.
• Emergency & Crisis Management: Quick decision-making and problem-solving in emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to terminal operations.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills for team management, as well as effective communication with stakeholders to address concerns and ensure system efficiency.
• Budget & Cost Management: Experience in budget control, cost optimization, and procurement of materials to maintain operational efficiency.
