Role Description The Shift Lead role at Sweetgreen is a part-time, on-site position located in Wayne, PA. This role is responsible for leading shifts, supporting smooth restaurant operations, and ensuring an excellent guest experience. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing team members on the floor, coordinating food prep and service, monitoring food safety and cleanliness standards, and assisting with opening and closing procedures. The Shift Lead helps manage line flow, addresses guest inquiries or concerns, and supports team training and coaching during shifts. This role also collaborates with management on daily goals, inventory needs, and maintaining a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant or retail environments with skills in guest service, cash handling, and basic food safety.
• Ability to lead and support teams, including shift oversight, task delegation, and on-the-floor coaching.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage guests, collaborate with teammates, and resolve issues calmly.
• Organizational and time-management abilities to maintain line efficiency, prioritize tasks, and follow opening/closing procedures.
• Reliability and flexibility to work a part-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Commitment to a clean, safe, and inclusive work environment aligned with Sweetgreen’s mission and values.
• Comfort working on your feet for extended periods and lifting items as required by restaurant operations.
• Previous shift lead or supervisory experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
