Shift Leader

Job Overview

Càphê Roasters is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Shift Leader to help oversee daily café operations and support the team during assigned shifts. This role helps maintain excellent customer service, beverage and food quality, cleanliness, inventory levels, and efficient operations while providing guidance to café team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support café team members during assigned shifts.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and help resolve routine customer concerns.
• Oversee daily opening, operating, and closing procedures.
• Support preparation and service of coffee, beverages, food, and other menu items.
• Monitor product quality, presentation, freshness, and order accuracy.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Assign shift tasks and help maintain efficient workflow during busy periods.
• Restock coffee, food, cups, packaging, and other café supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
• Maintain clean and organized counters, service areas, equipment, and dining spaces.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company procedures.
• Train and support team members on café standards and daily procedures.
• Communicate operational issues, equipment concerns, and customer feedback to management.
• Support a positive, respectful, and productive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous shift lead or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, professional, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable with POS systems and cash handling.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions during busy shifts.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
