Shift Leader

We are hiring a shift lead to help run daily robot teleoperation and data collection. You’ll learn to operate our robots, coordinate a small team of operators, and keep work moving toward the day’s goals.

This role combines operating robots with leading the floor. You’ll work closely with our operations lead to understand priorities, assign tasks, support operators, and handle routine problems when they’re away.

What You'll Do

• Turn daily goals into clear assignments and adjust as staffing or equipment availability changes.
• Keep operators productive by checking progress, resolving confusion, and helping people get unstuck.
• Operate robots to collect training data and demonstrate proper technique.
• Check that operators follow task instructions and established data quality standards.
• Train new operators and give clear, constructive feedback.
• Follow basic troubleshooting procedures and escalate equipment or software problems with useful details.
• Keep the workspace organized and follow safety procedures.
• Provide a brief shift handoff covering completed work, issues, and outstanding follow-up.

What We're Looking For

• Experience coordinating or leading people in a hands-on environment, such as production, warehouse operations, food service, a lab, or technical operations.
• Reliability and follow-through: you notice what needs attention and make sure it gets handled.
• Comfort assigning work, giving feedback, and holding operators to consistent expectations.
• Good judgment when priorities change or something goes wrong.
• Attention to detail and the patience to learn precise, repeatable tasks.
• Comfort learning computer interfaces and working with physical equipment.
• Clear verbal and written communication.

Previous robotics or teleoperation experience is a plus. We provide training on our robots and workflows; a robotics or programming background is not required.

You’ll begin by learning our collection tasks and quality standards, then take on responsibility for coordinating the shift. Success means operators know what to work on, routine issues get addressed, and the operations lead has a clear picture of progress.

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
