Shift Leader

Ella Café is a neighborhood coffee house known for quality and warm, down-to-earth hospitality. Our shift leaders set the tone, and when the manager is off, guests and teammates count on them. We're opening our newest café in Fort Lauderdale at 1520 N Federal Hwy and are building the opening team.

What you'll do

• Run the floor: set positions, keep the line moving, and lead the shift when the manager is out
• Open and close the café using our checklists
• Handle cash: register counts and the cash log
• Coach teammates in the moment and help train new hires
• Make things right for guests, and resolve team conflicts respectfully
• Watch labor, timing breaks and tasks to how busy it is
• Manage the 86 list and complete the nightly shift report
• Able to stand for full shifts, lift up to 30 lbs, and work flexible shifts including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

What we're looking for

• Prior shift lead or supervisory experience in food service or hospitality (coffee experience a plus)
• A warm, steady presence who leads by example
• Accountable: you follow through and own your shift's results
• Composed, with good judgment when it's busy
• Coachable yourself, and able to give clear, kind feedback
• High standards for cleanliness and cash accuracy; SERV Safe certified or willing to certify within 60 days
