Shift Leader - Sioux Falls, SD - Full Time

Position Summary

Roy'zzz is opening internal interest for the Shift Leader role.The Shift Leader is the first formal store leadership layer in the updated retail framework. This role is responsible for running assigned shifts as Leader-on-Duty, supporting opening and closing once trained and authorized, protecting the guest experience, supporting cash and documentation standards, and helping the store execute consistently.

What This Role Owns

• Running assigned shifts as Leader-on-Duty and keeping the team focused on guest service, compliance, and store execution.
• Opening and closing the store once trained, authorized, and scheduled to do so.
• Delegating tasks, following up on completion, completing shift handoffs, and supporting daily communication.
• Supporting guest escalations with calm problem solving and clear communication.
• Supporting cash-control expectations, daily documentation, store readiness, and assigned follow-through.
• Owning and supporting assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR) work such as Inventory, Operations, Guest Experience, Employee Culture/Training, Non-Cannabis/Supplies, or Purchasing/Vendor follow-up.
• Escalating major HR, compliance, cash, inventory, guest, safety, or policy concerns to the correct leader.
• Additional duties as needed for store support.

Important Role Boundaries

• Shift Leaders may act as Leader-on-Duty only within their training, authorization, and assigned scope.
• Formal discipline, terminations, major compliance decisions, major cash or inventory issues, and out-of-policy decisions must be escalated to the correct leader.
• Shift Leaders are expected to document and communicate issues early rather than waiting until they become larger problems.
• AOR work may rotate by quarter after review, training, and handoff based on business needs and leadership approval.
