Shift Manager – The George Wallis, Wolverhampton City Centre

Are you an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for great service, food, and team leadership? The George Wallis, a busy and welcoming pub and food venue located in the heart of Wolverhampton City Centre, is looking for a reliable and motivated Shift Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day running of the pub and food service during your shifts
Lead and support front-of-house, bar, and kitchen teams to deliver excellent customer experiences
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations
Work professionally with all relevant local authorities, including licensing, environmental health, and trading standards
Handle customer queries or issues efficiently and professionally
Manage cash handling, stock control, and end-of-day reporting
Report directly to the General Manager and support them in the overall running of the venue

What We’re Looking For

Experience working in a similar pub or hospitality management or supervisory role
BIIAB Personal Licence holder (essential)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
Flexibility during busy periods including Christmas and New Year
Ideally able to drive (due to late finishes and occasional operational needs)
Confidence in working with local authorities and regulatory bodies
