Brick Lane Bagel Co. is looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Shift Manager to join our team. We’re passionate about serving great bagels, delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for every customer.

We’re looking for someone with previous food industry experience who can lead by example, keep service running smoothly and motivate the team during busy shifts.

The Role

As Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your shift, ensuring our team delivers great food, fast service and a consistently high standard of customer experience.

You’ll be a confident leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced food environment, takes pride in presentation and cleanliness, and can keep the team organised when things get busy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team throughout each shift.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer queries professionally.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, preparation and presentation.
• Ensure food hygiene, health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Monitor stock levels, manage deliveries and minimise food waste.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily checks.
• Organise staff breaks, delegate tasks and manage shift priorities.
• Support the training and development of team members.
• Lead by example, maintaining a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in the food industry is essential.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and a hands-on approach.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, food safety and cleanliness standards.
• Reliable, organised, punctual and able to take responsibility.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and busy periods.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
