Shift Manager

The Shift Manager is responsible for supervising daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, leading team members, and ensuring an excellent dining experience for every guest. This role involves coordinating front-of-house and kitchen activities, maintaining food quality and service standards, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring efficient operations. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts.
• Lead and support front-of-house, kitchen, and service staff.
• Assign employee duties and coordinate shift schedules, breaks, and coverage.
• Train new team members on restaurant procedures and customer-service standards.
• Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and professional service.
• Handle customer questions, feedback, complaints, and special requests.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and order accuracy.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
• Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming dining and service areas.
• Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety standards.
• Assist with inventory checks, stock replenishment, and waste reduction.
• Monitor POS transactions and ensure accurate payment processing.
• Support cash handling and end-of-shift reconciliation procedures.
• Oversee opening, closing, and shift handover activities.
• Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Resolve operational issues promptly and report significant concerns to management.
• Support promotions, special events, and initiatives to improve guest satisfaction.
• Ensure employees follow company policies and restaurant service standards.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality operations.
• Shift-supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and team-coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations and food-service standards.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash-handling procedures.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $25.84 - $31.11 per hour
