About the Job

McAlister’s Deli in Peoria is hiring a dependable, hands-on Shift Leader! You’ll help run daily shifts, support our kitchen and front counter teams, and make sure guests receive friendly service and accurately prepared food.

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and keeps the team organized during busy periods. You’ll work alongside your teammates while providing direction and supporting the General Manager.

Location: 8215 W Bell Rd, Suite 125, Peoria, AZ

What You’ll Do

• Lead shifts, assign tasks, and help the team keep orders moving efficiently.
• Work alongside team members in food preparation, order assembly, guest service, and cleaning.
• Check food quality, portion sizes, and order accuracy.
• Help train and coach team members on restaurant procedures and service standards.
• Address routine guest concerns professionally and involve management when needed.
• Operate the POS system and follow cash handling and drawer reconciliation procedures.
• Complete opening or closing checklists and communicate shift updates to management.
• Monitor supplies, help with restocking, and maintain food safety and cleanliness standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous restaurant or food service experience.
• Leadership or shift supervision experience preferred; experienced team members ready to take the next step are encouraged to apply.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to lead by example.
• Clear communication and the ability to stay organized during busy shifts.
• Familiarity with food safety procedures and cash handling.
• Ability to work on your feet and perform routine restaurant tasks, with reasonable accommodation.
