Shift Manager / Server Captain

Duties

• Oversee daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Lead, motivate, and supervise team members, including staff training and development to foster a positive work environment
• Manage food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and proper food handling procedures
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock control, and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment
• Enforce food safety protocols and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
• Assist in managing kitchen activities, including food production, cooking, and ensuring timely service delivery
• Support management in analyzing profit and loss reports, budgeting efforts, and implementing cost-control measures
• Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure positive dining experiences
• Participate in staff scheduling, interviewing potential team members, and managing shift coverage to meet business needs

Skills

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with strong food preparation and cooking skills
• Familiarity with POS system (TOAST); cash handling expertise required
• Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience within hospitality or restaurant settings
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
• Strong understanding of inventory control, food production processes, and kitchen management
• Excellent communication skills for managerial conversations, staff training, and customer service interactions
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, budgeting, and P&L analysis
• Experience in managing hospitality teams with leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and accountability
• Skilled in managing shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
• Background in culinary arts or food industry management preferred; casual dining or banquet experience advantageous

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
