Shift Production Operator

About the role

Kymera International, located at Bell Bay in Northern Tasmania, is a global leader in the manufacture of metal powders. We are seeking a Shift Production Operator to join our production team on a seven-day rotating shift roster. Reporting to the Crew Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely operating production plant and mechanical equipment, undertaking product quality testing, and assisting with product handling and loading activities. For this role any manufacturing, process-operating experience is advantageous, but not critical as comprehensive training will be provided

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate production plant and mechanical equipment
• Monitor production processes and complete routine operating checks
• Undertake product sampling and quality-control testing
• Handle, package and load finished products
• Accurately record production and quality information using computer-based systems
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
• Identify and report equipment, safety and quality issues
• Contribute to process, safety and quality improvements
• Work effectively as part of a small and dedicated shift team

About you

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and good housekeeping
• Hold a valid forklift license with recent experience
• Be physically fit and capable of performing a physically demanding role
• Have sound technical and mechanical aptitude
• Be able to learn new processes and skills quickly
• Have strong attention to detail and precise work practices
• Be comfortable using computers and entering production information
• Have good written and verbal communication skills
• Be able to work effectively within a team and unsupervised when required
• Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability and a willingness to contribute to improvements
