Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

MaOL Agro Processing is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Shift Supervisor to oversee production activities during assigned shifts. The successful candidate will coordinate production operators, monitor equipment and processes, enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate production operators during assigned shifts.
• Ensure daily and shift production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor production processes and equipment performance throughout the shift.
• Identify operational challenges and promptly escalate equipment breakdowns or technical issues.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Monitor product quality and ensure production activities meet established specifications.
• Conduct proper shift handovers, communicating production status, outstanding issues, and operational requirements.
• Prepare accurate shift production reports and submit them to the Production Manager.
• Monitor production downtime and support efforts to minimize avoidable downtime.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, sanitation, and hygiene standards are maintained within the production area.
• Enforce workplace safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Coach, guide, and motivate production operators to improve productivity and performance.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth production operations.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, work discipline, and operator compliance during assigned shifts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Perform other production-related duties assigned by the Production Manager or Head of Production.

Qualifications & Experience

• HND or B.Sc. in Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant manufacturing or food-processing experience.
• Previous supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Practical knowledge of production processes, equipment operations, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Basic computer and production reporting skills.

• Shift Production Target Achievement: Percentage of assigned production targets achieved per shift.
• Production Downtime: Effective monitoring and reduction of avoidable downtime during shifts.
• Quality Compliance: Percentage of production output meeting approved quality specifications.
• Safety Performance: Compliance with safety procedures and reduction of workplace incidents.
• Shift Attendance: Effective management of operator attendance and shift coverage.
• SOP Compliance: Level of adherence to approved production procedures and work instructions.
• Shift Reporting Accuracy: Timely and accurate completion of shift reports and handover documentation.
