Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

Cafe Citta is looking for a reliable and motivated Shift Supervisor to support daily café operations and help lead the team during service. The successful candidate will coordinate staff duties, maintain high customer service standards, oversee daily tasks, and ensure the café operates efficiently in a welcoming environment.

Job Description

• Supervise daily café operations during assigned shifts.
• Allocate tasks to team members and ensure duties are completed efficiently.
• Support and motivate staff to deliver friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist with serving customers, taking orders, and processing payments when required.
• Help coordinate food and drink preparation with the kitchen and service teams.
• Monitor service quality and respond professionally to customer feedback.
• Assist with staff training and support new team members during onboarding.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or replenishment needs.
• Help receive deliveries and ensure supplies are stored appropriately.
• Ensure cleaning routines and food hygiene standards are followed.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including till checks where required.
• Address routine operational issues and escalate complex concerns to management.
• Promote teamwork and maintain an organised, positive working environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality role.
• Experience supervising colleagues or taking responsibility during a shift is beneficial.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Good customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to remain calm during busy periods.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends when required.

Pay: £16.00-£27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.0 per week
