Shift Supervisor

About the role

On-duty overall management of data center operations during shifts, monitoring alarms from environmental control platforms, power systems, UPS, batteries, diesel generators, air conditioning, chilled water, fire protection, water leakage, and security systems. Responsible for promptly assigning alarm work orders and tracking their resolution to ensure closure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor alarms from the environmental control platform, power systems, UPS, batteries, diesel generators, air conditioning, chilled water, fire protection, water leakage, and security systems; promptly assign alarm work orders and track their resolution
• In the event of unexpected incidents such as power outages, air conditioning failures, temperature/humidity exceeding limits, water leaks, fire alarms, or generator activation, immediately dispatch on-site personnel to coordinate local engineers and maintenance providers for emergency response
• Report to headquarters in China, contain the impact of incidents, and document initial troubleshooting actions
• Approve high-risk operations during the shift, including data center construction, rack installation/removal, U-position changes, power distribution operations, hot work, and confined space work
• Enforce on-site supervision and safety briefings, verify contractor qualifications, and manage access to the data center
• Schedule and supervise operations personnel to complete daily inspections of electrical rooms, battery rooms, generator rooms, fuel storage rooms, cold aisles, and cooling stations
• Verify inspection quality and promptly arrange corrective actions for identified hazards
• Coordinate the assignment and progress tracking of work orders during shifts; standardize handover documentation including operation logs, fault records, change logs, and unresolved issues
• Coordinate with local Thai maintenance suppliers to dispatch personnel for immediate repairs, clearly define response requirements, and oversee repair progress and quality
• Generate shift logs, summarize faults during the shift, and prepare rapid reports on major incidents

About you

• Associate degree or higher in electrical, HVAC, mechanical and electrical engineering, automation, telecommunications, or related fields
• At least 3 years of experience in operations and maintenance of large-scale IDC data centers, with a minimum of 1 year serving as a shift supervisor or team leader in data center operations
• Familiar with all disciplines of data center infrastructure: high and low voltage power distribution, UPS, batteries, diesel generators, precision air conditioning, chilled water systems, environmental monitoring, fire protection, leak detection, and security
• Capable of reading basic electrical and HVAC drawings, with independent fault diagnosis and emergency dispatch capabilities
• Fluent in reading and writing, proficient in spoken English for technical documentation, vendor communication, and fault reporting
• Thai language proficiency is a plus
• Can reside in Thailand long-term and adapt to a 24/7 shift rotation schedule
• Hold a valid passport and be eligible for an overseas work visa
• Familiar with typical data center fault handling procedures: power outage, generator auto-start failure, air conditioning failure, chilled water supply interruption, battery alarm, water leakage, and false fire alarm
• Capable of fault classification and judgment, distinguishing between general alerts, major alerts, and critical failures
