Shift Supervisor

Company Information and Introduction:

Anglian Chemicals is a UK-based manufacturer and distributor of own-label cleaning and chemical products. Operations span blending and filling, warehousing and logistics, with activity across multiple Norfolk sites. We’re looking for a Shift Supervisor to lead a production shift of up to 20 people. You’ll make sure the shift hits its targets safely, on time and to the right quality. It’s a hands-on leadership role. Your team will come to you first, and you’ll stand in for the Production Manager when needed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

What you’ll be doing

• Leading a shift team of up to 20, plus agency staff, to deliver the production plan
• Covering packing and line feeding, and making sure lines and equipment run well
• Building a strong safety culture: role modelling good habits, encouraging near-miss reporting and dealing with unsafe behaviour
• Keeping to GMP and quality standards, and helping investigate breakdowns, quality issues and non-conformances
• Using NetSuite to run the production plan and keep stock on track, and flagging anything that could hold up the schedule
• Managing stock: allocating materials, keeping records accurate and running inventory counts
• Making sure Short Interval Control (SIC) is used on every line
• Training and coaching Line Packers and Feeders, and keeping the skills matrix up to date
• Tracking attendance, flagging absence early and planning team holidays around the production plan
• Running start-of-shift huddles and clear handovers, so everyone knows the day’s targets
• Getting the team involved in improvement work with our CI Engineer to cut waste and work smarter
• Representing Manufacturing at meetings and sharing updates with the wider team

You’ll also need to be flexible as hours may change with business needs. You may need to move between production lines, support overtime, and attend some meetings or training outside your usual shift.
