Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver Lead Hand to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all goods are accurately processed, safely loaded and unloaded, and efficiently stored. As a leader on the floor, you will coordinate team activities, maintain safety standards, and optimize warehouse workflows to support seamless order fulfillment. Your proactive approach will help drive productivity and uphold the highest quality standards in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, including load and unload operations using forklifts, reach trucks, or order pickers.
• Ensure accurate order picking, packing, and documentation using warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software like AS400.
• Lead a team of warehouse associates in executing order fulfillment tasks efficiently while maintaining safety protocols.
• Oversee inventory control procedures, including cycle counts, stock replenishment, and storage organization within the warehouse distribution center.
• Manage the packaging process to ensure products are securely prepared for shipment, adhering to quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory movements; generate reports as needed for management review.
• Train new team members on safe operation of equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks, emphasizing proper handling techniques.

Requirements

• Proven warehouse experience with a strong understanding of shipping & receiving processes in a distribution setting.
• Valid forklift certification with experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or similar equipment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 systems, and MRP software for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order picking, packing measurements, and inventory counts.
• Experience with order fulfillment procedures in e-commerce or retail environments.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to lead teams effectively and coordinate with other departments.
