SHIPPING CLERK

About the role

Winco Imp. & Exp. Limited is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods through our import and export operations, ensuring that shipments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliable and timely delivery of goods to our clients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Processing shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs declarations
• Coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders and logistics providers to arrange timely shipment of goods
• Maintaining accurate records of all shipments, including tracking numbers, weights, dimensions and contents
• Preparing and organising export and import documentation to ensure compliance with customs regulations and international shipping requirements
• Liaising with customers and internal teams to confirm shipment details, delivery dates and special handling requirements
• Monitoring shipment status and providing customers with regular updates on their orders
• Verifying that goods are properly packaged, labelled and marked according to shipping standards
• Assisting with cost calculations, shipping quotes and freight charge reconciliation
• Maintaining organised filing systems for shipping records and documentation
• Supporting the resolution of shipping discrepancies, delays or customer inquiries
• Immediate available is preferred

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; further education or training in logistics or customs procedures is advantageous
• Minimum 5 years' experience in shipping, customs clearance or import/export operations
• Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or similar role in import/export or logistics operations
• Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, customs regulations and international trade documentation
• Proficiency in using shipping software, warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to process large volumes of paperwork accurately
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple shipments simultaneously
• Good communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin); Chinese Word Processing, additional languages are beneficial
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Hong Kong & China customs procedures and import/export regulations is highly desirable
• Physical capability to handle light to moderate manual tasks such as moving packages and checking shipments
