Shipping Clerk

Job Summary

The Shipping Clerk supports the Shipping Manager with the day-to-day shipping operations of the company. This position is primarily responsible for processing and preparing small parcel and ground shipments through UPS and FedEx, ensuring orders are accurately packed, labeled, documented, and shipped on schedule. The Shipping Clerk works closely with the Shipping Manager, Production, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure finished products are shipped accurately and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and process daily UPS and FedEx Ground shipments.
• Verify orders, quantities, addresses, and shipping information for accuracy.
• Pack finished products safely and securely for shipment.
• Print shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documents.
• Weigh and measure packages and enter shipment information into the shipping system.
• Stage completed shipments for daily carrier pickup.
• Track shipments and assist with resolving shipping issues or discrepancies.
• Maintain an organized and clean shipping area.
• Monitor and maintain shipping supplies.
• Assist the Shipping Manager with daily shipping priorities and other shipping-related tasks.
• Move packages and finished products using carts and pallet jacks as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and shipping requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping is a plus.
• Experience using an ERP system (Epicor a plus)
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and occasionally use a step ladder.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
