Shipping Operations Assistant

Position Summary

Thomas Freight & Transit LLC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Operations Assistant to support daily shipping and logistics activities. This role will assist with shipment coordination, order processing, documentation, and communication between internal teams, drivers, and customers. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced transportation environment. No previous experience is required paid training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily shipping and logistics operations.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, labels, and operational paperwork.
• Coordinate shipment schedules and track delivery information.
• Verify shipment details, quantities, and required documentation.
• Update internal systems with accurate shipping and order information.
• Communicate with drivers, warehouse personnel, and team members regarding shipment status.
• Assist with receiving and processing incoming deliveries.
• Maintain organized records of shipments, inventory, and operational activities.
• Support problem resolution related to shipping delays or documentation issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and operational guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Reliable attendance and a positive work attitude.

Pay: $22.50 - $23.50 per hour
