Shop Carpenter

Job Overview
Residential General Contractor that specializes in custom construction in Palm Beach, Florida is seeking to employ an advanced carpenter with joinery and cabinet making skills for small company-owned wood shop.

Responsibilities

• Ideal candidate should have experience in fabricating casework and possess 10+ years of experience.
• Individual must be client facing and able to interact with homeowners.
• Knowledge of millwork fabrication and shop equipment is a requirement along with the ability to operate a forklift.
• Clean driver’s license and the ability to safely drive an 18’ box truck are mandatory requirements of the employment offering.
• The ability to hand draw dimensioned details is a condition of employment and the ability to hand sketch perspective drawings is of value. Technology skills for general communication are essential. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Sketch Up is advantageous.
• Candidate should be able to work alone with minimal supervision while following all company procedures, protocol and safety guidelines.
• Knowledge of high-quality materials, veneers, glue technology, fasteners, intricate door and window hardware, carving, planer and shaper equipment and general carpentry installation techniques are expected. Purchasing of materials from local wholesalers and preparation of project budgets is valuable.
• Possession of yacht joinery experience is an added advantage to employment.
• Typical work week is not less than forty hours with many fifty-hour weeks on an annual basis.
• Employment is conditioned on background check, drug screening and verifiable references.
