Shop Electrical Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Shop Electrical Technician to join our team. We manufacture and repair custom industrial power units for a range of customers and applications. Unlike shops with standard, repetitive products, we thrive on tailored builds across our customer base. Whether it’s working from drawings for new equipment or adapting to modifications necessary to repair an industrial unit, we handle a wide range of customized products.

The Shop Technician - Electrical is responsible for the assembly of standard and custom panels, sub-assemblies, and systems for industrial power units. This person assembles or modifies cables and electrical assemblies from schematics or work instructions.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Assembly and basic testing of electro-mechanical assemblies
• Wiring and cabling within the system framework
• Mounting of mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical assemblies
• May include some on-site service work with pay differential
• Safely work with standard tools and portable power equipment
• Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams
• Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences
• Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools
• Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools
• Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
• Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts
• Assemble components onto panel following the mechanical layout
• Wire components per the electrical schematic following predefined guidelines and standards
• Capable of completing modifications for metal panel work like drilling and tapping
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• At least 2 years related work experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
