Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Helper/Driver to join our dynamic team. You will assist with warehouse tasks, handle manual material handling, and operate various types of vehicles to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to develop their driving skills and gain hands-on experience in logistics and warehouse support. MUST BE AT LEAST 25 WITH A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD, CDL NOT REQUIRED. Must complete drug screen prior to hiring.

Duties

• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials within the warehouse using manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts
• Safely load and unload goods from box trucks or personal vehicles, adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety protocols
• Drive commercial trucks or personal vehicles for delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs
• Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations during route driving and vehicle operation
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections using mobile devices or onboard systems
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies during all driving activities
• Support warehouse operations by organizing inventory, preparing shipments, and assisting team members as needed

Skills

• Proven warehouse experience with knowledge of material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks and manual handling practices
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for box truck or commercial truck driving; experience in delivery driving preferred
• Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and safe driving practices on various routes
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to weight handling, hours of service, and vehicle safety inspections
• Excellent customer service skills to represent the company professionally during deliveries
• Ability to lift heavy loads safely while following proper lifting techniques; experience with heavy lifting required
• Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and record keeping
