Shop Coordinator – Part Time

Reporting Structure

The Shop Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works collaboratively with the estimating team, operations leadership, and field supervisors to ensure alignment between shop operations and project execution. This position will be 20-40 hours per week.

Position Overview

The Shop Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and operational efficiency of the shop facility. This role is structured as a combination of shop-based management and leadership, supporting both internal shop functions and on-site project execution.

The position plays a key role in modernizing systems, improving inventory controls, enhancing operational procedures, and ensuring the shop environment operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily shop operations to ensure workflow efficiency, organization, and productivity.
• Develop, implement, and maintain structured systems for shop processes and performance tracking.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures to support consistency and continuous improvement.

Inventory & Materials Management

• Manage inventory control systems, including tracking, storage organization, and replenishment planning.
• Establish minimum and maximum inventory levels for regularly used materials and supplies.
• Coordinate material preparation and readiness in alignment with project schedules.
• Develop vendor relationships and maintain supplier records.
• Implement responsible material handling and recycling practices.

Equipment & Asset Oversight

• Ensure all shop equipment is maintained, serviced, and operating safely.
• Oversee maintenance tracking for company vehicles and mobile equipment.
• Coordinate routine inspections and preventative maintenance programs.

Shop Organization & Facility Management

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Optimize storage systems and layout for improved efficiency and accessibility.
• Implement systems for tracking and organizing samples, materials, and project-related assets.

Field, Estimating & Client Support

• Support field operations as required.
• Assist with safety planning and compliance initiatives for large-scale projects.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to align shop support with project needs.

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
